Understanding the algorithm

Fansly’s For You Page (FYP) is the main way people discover new creators, and it’s all about organic reach. This means creators are discovered based on how well their content naturally performs–not because of paid promotion.

So, staying consistent and keeping the audience engaged is important for scaling creators.

What the algorithm prioritizes:

  • Recent, consistent posting

  • Profile engagement (likes, views, replies)

  • Watch time (repeat plays especially)

  • External traffic to the profile

  • Timeline visibility (follow-only > sub-only)

The growth formula

01. Post consistently

Aim for 3-5 clips per creator per week. Don’t wait for perfect content–volume and rhythm beat polish.

Rotate older content back into rotation every few weeks.

02. Stick to 6-10 second clips

6-10 seconds is the ideal length for swipe-based feeds. Too short means there’s not enough time to watch but too long means the users swipe away early.

Aim for 2-3 views per user. This will rank you better.

03. Optimize timeline settings

Use follow-only timelines to allow engagement, and avoid using sub-only timeline as the default. Save your high-value content for PPVs.

Remember: visibility first, conversion second.

04. Increase traction with external promotion

Send traffic from TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and other sites to Fansly. Even basic teaser posts with good hooks will drive FYP traction.

External engagement loops back to boost algorithm visibility.

05. Monetize DMs

The highest-earning creators on Fansly don’t just rely on tips, they naturally embed monetization directly into the chat.

During a DM conversation, creators casually send a locked message mid-chat priced low between
$3-$5. This converts better than blunt tip requests, while being a cue to keep the conversation going.

Why it works?

It feels natural, maintains flow, and gives fans a reason to stay engaged.

Success checklist

  • Choose creators with good content, but low activity

  • Switch their timelines to follow-only visibility

  • Schedule 3–5 posts per week and recycle and rotate content

  • Train creators on the 6–10s clip format

  • Coach them on sending mid-DM locked messages

  • Track growth via FYP views + DM revenue uplift
